I grew up in a family of visual artists, in Beirut, Lebanon, a beautiful country on the Mediterranean. Painting has always been part of my life. It is a passion that helps me use my imagination to create scenes and places filled with happy colors.

I began experimenting with different drawing techniques and later studied art and painting at a local art college, under the mentorship of several accomplished painters. In 2000, I decided to incorporate computer graphics into my techniques and took a one-year course at The International Academy of Design in Toronto and graduated with honors.

My favorite subjects are architectural detail and landscape, combined with strong colors. I have become well known for my bold, colorful technique in my paintings. Fashion figures are also a draw for me I think, because I was influenced by a great French artist called René Gruau. Through the years, I have created many posters for fashion companies and store windows.

I choose my subjects from any scene that moves me, and then I proceed to put the elements in a different setting to create the certain mood that Im looking for. My paintings are whimsical, in an imaginary place. I find painting a way of a silent communication between the artist and the viewer, a beautiful happy world, a reflection of me when Im painting. It is an emotional trip, I try to immerse myself in the subject and moment. Every brush stroke is full of anticipation and passion for my work.

I teach oil and acrylics at workshops and I love what I do. My students constantly inspire me, whether they are talented or just wanting to experiment. I try to teach them how to feel the connection between the subject matter and their own feelings and most importantly how to enjoy painting. I take my work seriously, researching and exploring new ways and media to improve. I find any challenge an opening to learn and discover new techniques.
